Hugh Jackman has been named this year's Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. Not sure how I feel about that. According to imdb, this Aussie's 6'2" (that's a giant in Hollywood height), and yet he seems small to me (and no, I'm not making an sexual innuendos).

While I may sound surprised, Jackman's wife certainly wasn't."God bless her, she said, 'I could've told them that years ago,'" he told People. "And then she said, 'Obviously, Brad wasn't available this year.' And I said, 'That was a joke, right?'"

Australia costar Nicole Kidman also doesn't sound surprised either. "Hugh is tough and romantic at the same time," she said. "Australian men are a different breed. They're rugged and they sweat."

Nic served sweet nothings by Keith

Nicole Kidman recnetly revealed the sickly sweet lines Keith Urban layed on her that sound like they came straight out of a sappy Hugh Grant rom com... OK, maybe not in that Grant isn't-it-cute-how-bumbling-I-am way, perhaps more McDreamy-like.

"Three and a half years ago a man came along and said, 'I'm going to take you to Tennessee,'" Kidman was quoted as saying at the Glamour awards by WENN. "And he took me down there and he said, 'I think you deserve to be loved. Let me love you, let me give you a home and let's make a baby.' So thank you, Keith...I don't believe that you can [have it all]. But I believe you can have balance...Three and a half years ago I had a wonderful career, I had two kids, I had movie offers, great directors offering me things, but I wasn't loved."

We’ll always heart you Heath

Tragedy has struck Hollywood again. Barely a week after the death of Brad Renfro, 25, Heath Ledger was also found dead. He was only 28. The Aussie actor’s rep and family are calling his death an accident, though an official cause has yet to be announced. A statement from the grieving family printed by People magazine read: “[Heath] was found peacefully asleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper at 3:30 pm US time… Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him. He was a down-to-earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving and selfless individual who was extremely inspirational to many. Please now respect our family's need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately.” Other Australian actors are speaking of their sorrow. "I had such great hope for him," Mel Gibson, who starred with Heath in The Patriot, said. "He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family." Nicole Kidman had similar sentiments: "What a tragedy, she said. “My heart goes out to his family."
I first fell in love with Heath Ledger in 1999 when he played the dark brooding hunk in the modern retelling of The Taming of the Shrew, 10 Things I Hate About You. After that he went on to win more hearts in A Knight’s Tale and then he stirred up controversy with his turn as a gay cowboy in Brokeback Mountain (for which he earned an Oscar nomination). This summer will be the bittersweet release of The Dark Knight in which Heath played The Joker.
He will be missed.

Nicole Kidman’s sheer luck

Nicole Kidman was saved from a potentially embarrassing photo op that would have left her red faced on the red carpet. The actress accidentally wore a transparent dress, which woulda shown everything in the sunlight, but lucky for her she’s a lady who loves lingerie. "That was terrible. I got out of the car and it was sunny, so I was like, 'Oh my gosh,' and kept asking my husband [Keith Urban], 'Is my dress see-through?' And he went: 'Yep.' So I was like: 'Give me my coat!,'" she told Britain's Heart FM radio station, BreakingNews.ie reported. "I didn't realize [the photographers] had got me. But I do wear lingerie, so we weren't in dire straits."
